My Life Choice

When I was a girl, I wanted be a doctor, a mathematic's teacher, an actress or a singer, but I never said to my family because I'm a little embarrasing and actually sang very badly. The idea of becoming a doctor was short-lived unfortunately for my parents, for them the idea were fantastic in this moment. When I started high school I said I wanted to study adminstration because I wanted to go to my brother´s high school, but they sent me to another one that supposedly would be better for me. Finally I liked administration of human resources, but in my last one year of high school I did not know what career I would want study. I thought in gastronomy, informatic, logistic and commercial engineering, but my focus were in social. So in the moment of applying to univesity I conviced me -whit a vocational counselor- that public administration was for me, since my concern was always the problems of society. Add I applied for International Studies at the University of Chile, but languages are not my specialty so this were my third option, and the second were Public Administration but at the USACH. Finally I stayed in public administration at the University of Chile, starting my torture journey...

At the beginning everything was fine, until I remembered that history was not my specialty, as well as socializing and languages, but with endeavor I have managed to overcome these subjects -for now only history, the other is in process- and others problems that have arisen along the way. In brief, I happy whit my career nonetheless, without regrets.

In the future, I would like to specialize in childhood issues for to then work in a possible Ministry of Children. This is my dream: a part of the state that cares only about children.

But of course, the changes must start by society culture and, maybe, in this case, we have advanced a little, well, for example, now a working mother that not dedicates 100% to housework is not frowned -not as much as before- at least by the younger population, I think an age is arrives when changing your mind is difficult :/ for this reason, it’s important that our generations and the generations that coming be managers of change, breaking down stereotypes so basics as that a male can’t cry, make housework, nor get involving in raising children and that women must take care of their image, make up, look slim and be kin...
